About Tamil Nadu Pollutin Control :

     Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB), established in 1982. Functions with Head Office at Chennai, headed by Chairman Member SecretaryAdditional Chief Environmental Engineersand 10 Joint Chief Environmental Engineers, 32 District offices headed by District Environmental Engineers & Assistant Environmental Engineers. Due to increasing concerns for environmental issues and realization about the need for protecting the environment from various polluting ingredients, several acts have been enacted and brought under the purview of Environment Protection Act, 1986.
Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB), established in 1982. Functions with Head Office at Chennai, headed by Chairman, Member Secretary, 2 Additional Chief Environmental Engineers and 10 Joint Chief Environmental Engineers, 32 District offices headed by District Environmental Engineers and 2 District offices headed by Assistant Environmental Engineers. To assist in the Analytical and Scientific side, the Board has established 5 Advanced Environmental Laboratories, 10 District Environmental Laboratories.
TNPCB is implementing the Pollution Control Legislations and Rules and Notifications framed therein. In discharging the duties entrusted to it, the Board investigates, collects and disseminates data relating to water, air and land pollution, lays down standards for sewage/trade effluent and emissions.
