About Manipur Pollution Control Board:

     Manipur Pollution Control Board (MPCB) is a statutory body constituted under Sec. 4 of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 by the Govt. of Manipur vide. Notification no. 11/2/88-STE dated 28.06.89. The functions of the Board are to act as a regulatory body in the Prevention and Control of Pollution Act Air, Water, Noise and monitoring of Environmental parameters as per the Environment (Protection), Act and Rules framed under the rules. The Board also implements projects through financial assistance both from the Central Government (MoEF) and the State Government (Grant-in-aid).
